12 January 2010 Meeting Minutes

President and Vice President were both absent; meeting was called to order by the Treasurer Mike Dunn at 6:35 PM.  7 members present. Meeting was held upstairs due to sub freezing temperatures in the basement.

Minutes from last meeting were reviewed.  Motion to approve, seconded, and carried.

Treasurer’s report (Mike Dunn):

            + Current balance is $1,041.22.

            + It is January and Dues are Due

            + We still have a supply of T-shirts and prices are dropping to $15 per shirt

Old Business:  

    + Elections Held

            Mike Dunn was re-elected treasurer and Brian Schnieder was elected Secretary by unanimous vote. With regard to President and vice president, without the nominee’s there these positions were not voted on at this time.

    + Association funds

            Continued discussion about what to use our funds for and everyone like the idea of sponsoring an MSF class for those ORA members who otherwise would have to pay for the class on base. This was tabled till the spring but a great idea.

     + Holiday Party

            Still discussing having a belated holiday gathering due to bad weather and low numbers.

   + Base Organization

           This is still a work in progress, the outgoing BOD will assist the incoming with this project if needed but the general consensus is the association still wants to move forward with this.

   +Mission

           Discussed looking at the mission of the ORA and seeing if this needs to change or what we need to do to better meet our mission.

   +Communication

           Discussed importance of making sure that minutes are to our Web Master in a timely manner as well as updates for meetings and events.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 PM

There was no 50/50 since Rordy was not here to win it.

Next meeting will be 9 February, 6:30 PM, Rumors Lounge basement meeting room.
