9 June 2009 Meeting Minutes

President (Dave Airola) called the meeting to order at 6:35 PM.  13 members present, received paperwork for three new members.

Minutes from last meeting were reviewed.  Motion to approve, seconded, and carried.

Treasurer’s report (Mike Dunn):

            Current balance is $865.22.

Old Business:  

    + Cycle Fest Recap

            4 people from the ORA showed up and had a good time assisting with the fitting of helmets and the cycle rodeo. Group discussed doing one in conjunction with the Offutt family center fun day next year on 16 May 2010.

    + Offutt Safety Day Recap

Much thanks to Kathy for working the table all day and signing up 3 new members!!! Way to go!!!! There were lots of prizes and one of the people she signed up actually won the show and shine.

   + Breast Cancer Research Run, 27 June

            Mike Richards sent out the info and if it was suggested if anyone wanted to ride out in a group to put something on the web site like meeting time and location.

     + Yellow Ribbon Run, 12 Jul

            Huge event to raise funds for the Friends of the Family Support Center to support/assist deployed troops and their families.  Registration will start at 8:30 at Warner Cycle, and depart around 10:30; current plan is to head toward Ashland. Suggested to set a meeting time and place on the discussion board and everyone ride out together.

   + Poker Run Discussion

           Was brought up about the ORA hosting a poker run, this idea was perrty quickly dismissed since most dates are taken and not enough time to plan anything or a volunteer to head the project.

     Open Discussion

     + Safe Nebraska Ride, 27 June

            A ride to raise the awareness of motorcycles on the road, price includes admission to the ball game that night and there will be a show and shine. Cost is $20 a person or $30 a couple, again put something on the web site for a meeting time and location.

     + Dinner Rides

            Starting to schedule dinner rides, one set for the 18 June to Round the Bend restaurant, meet up at Bucky’s at 6:30. Have any suggestions, put it on the calendar!!!.

50/50 was $13 to the winner who’s name I didn’t get.

Next meeting will be 14 July, 6:30 PM, Rumors Lounge basement meeting room.
