13 July, 2010 Meeting Minutes

 

 

Meeting was called to order by President Phillip Cornwell at 6:38 PM. 3 officers and 7 members present. Meeting was held at Lansky’s.

 

 

Minutes from June were reviewed, discussed, and approved.

 

 

Treasurer’s report (Mike Dunn):

+ Current balance is $1,180.93

            + Dues are due

            + We still have a supply of T-shirts and prices are dropping to $15 per shirt

 

 

Old Business:

    + Communication

         E-mails are getting out good. If you didn’t please send your e-mail to Carl and he will get you on the list.

          Carl is working on the Forum and it appears to be up and running. Phil would like to see more use of this and more discussions going on for ride potentials.

 

    + De-Soto run

            Re-scheduled for later in the year to try and increase participation in yellow ribbon run and to let the flood waters recede at the park.

            -Bikers Saving Babies poker run to benefit March of Dimes July 31. Start at Route 66.    

SATURDAY JULY 24:

OMAHA ROLLERGIRLS POKER RUN: Register 10-12 at Strokers Bar & Grill, 78th & F. 125 mile ride then ends at Anchor Inn. Music by Capt Obvious. Proceeds donated to Girls, Inc. Info at org.activities@gmail.com or omaharollergirls.org.

PLATTSMOUTH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT POKER RUN: Register 10:30-1 at 127 N 5th, Plattsmouth. 175 mile ride thru 3 states. Dance at The Country Bar at 8 p.m. All proceeds to Plattsmouth VFD for purchase of equipment. Info at pvfrd.org.

DOGHOUSE POKER RUN: Register 11-12:30 at Doghouse, Iowa.

 

 

LOUISVILLE 620 RUN: Register 11-1 at NE Brewing Co (Shadow Lake Shopping Center). $15/$5 passenger. 120 mile ride ends at Good Times Bar, Louisville. More info at bar@68037.com.

RIDIN' 4 JUSTICE POKER RUN: Register 10:30-12 at Dillon Bros HD, 174th & Maple. Ends at Anchor Inn. $20/$15 passenger. Info 670-0877.

SATURDAY JULY 31:

PROJECT HARMONY PRE-STURGIS RUN: Register 10-11:30 at Dillon Bros HD, 174th & Maple. Help end child abuse & neglect. Last hand in at 6 at Anchor Inn. T-shirts to the first 500! You may pre-register at www.projectharmony.com.

FRIDAY AUG 6:

LAVISTA SUMMER BLOCK PARTY BIKE NIGHT: 6-9 at Brentwood Square, 84th & Giles. Info www.lavistasummerblockparty.com.

SUNDAY AUG 22:

TOMMY CRAFT MEMORIAL FUND RUN: Register at Dillon Bros HD.

SATURDAY AUG 28:

NE BURN CAMP POKER RUN: Starts 9 a.m. & Stops at The Fire Barn, Waterloo, NE. $20/hand. Awards for most Club members in poker run (wear your colors) & favorite bikes on poker run. Proceeds to Elizabeth's Hospital Burn Camp for children. Info on poker run or burn camp call MC at 712-256-9669.

12 STEP HOUSE FUN RUN: Register 11-1 at 7306 Grant St, cookout at 6 at last stop. All proceeds to 12 Step House operations.

SATURDAY SEPT 18:

21 RUN: Register 11-1 at Joe Bananas, 10th & Pacific. All proceeds to injured iron workers' families. Info mikemk@cox.net.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY OCT 1-3:

FALL COLORS RIDE: Leaving Omaha/Council Bluffs area at 1p.m. on Friday, circling the entire Iowa border (about 1150 miles), then returning Sunday evening about 7. Beautiful scenery and fall foliage.  For more info, call Tim at 402-290-8347 by Sept 7.

 

+Ride suggestions:

-       Freedom Rock.

-       Discussed a day ride to Kansas City in September or October for BBQ

 

There was much discussion and story swapping and good fellowship at the end of the meeting

 

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM

 

The 50/50 went to Heinz for $10

 

Next meeting will be 10 August, 6:30 PM, Lansky’s on 370, come to eat at 6 if you would like.
