14 July 2009 Meeting Minutes

 

President (Dave Airola) called the meeting to order at 6:31 PM.  12 members present.

 

Minutes from last meeting were reviewed.  Motion to approve, seconded, and carried.

 

Treasurer’s report (Mike Dunn):

            Current balance is $978.22.

 

Old Business:

 

     + Yellow Ribbon Run, 12 Jul

            Great success even with the challenging winds people had to ride through! Had three different counts for bikes, one count was 396 another count was 462, had 539 people register and the ride raised over $8,000. There are pics posted on the rolling plains web site. www.rpmcomaha.com

 

New Business

 

     + Proposal for new method to approve minutes

            The president brought forward a proposal to allow the BOD to review and approve meeting minutes instead of waiting for the next meeting. Rational was that events discussed during the meeting would be over before the next meeting hence people not attending the meeting wouldn’t get the word of upcoming events. A motion was made and seconded then approved by the membership.

 

     + Dinner Rides

            Starting to schedule dinner rides, check the calendar and if you have any suggestions submit it, just double click on the date and submit the info. Our meeting point will always be Bucky’s at 6:30 unless otherwise noted.

 

     + Becoming a Base Organization

            This was discussed again and noted that General Shanahan is extremely interested, Mike Dunn is going to bring our  reword our charter to fall in line with a base organization and the set up a meeting between the BOD and 55th Wing CC. more to come…

 

     +Working the Air Show

            This was discussed to get our name out there and raise some profits but there was serious concern with getting enough people to work it and whether we could even do it. Mike Dunn was going to check into this more.

 

     +PGR Help On The Homefront benefit run

            Check in time is from 10:30 to noon at Brandl Cycle 5046 Rentworth in Lincoln.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 6:58 PM

 

50/50 was $17 to the winner, same winner last month!! Brian Schneider. Rordy where are you?????

 

Next meeting will be 11 Aug, 6:30 PM, Rumors Lounge basement meeting room.
