11 August 2009 Meeting Minutes

President (Dave Airola) called the meeting to order at 6:37 PM.  11 members present, 1 prospective member.

Minutes from last meeting were reviewed.

Treasurer’s report (Mike Dunn):

            Current balance is $995.22.

Old Business:

     + Local Bike Nights

            Talked about the local bike nights.  Old Chicago has bike night on Sundays from 6-10 with free water, and coupons for free appetizers and $2 drafts. Quaker Steak and Lube on Wednesday nights, and others. Was suggested to put them on the calendar and have people meet up and ride to them together.

     + Base Organization

            Still working on getting the charter to meet the base guidelines and will keep pressing forward.

     + Air Show

            There were not enough people interested in working the air show and there was concern whether there was enough time to set anything up.  A motion was made to drop the idea; the motion was seconded and approved.

New Business

     + River City Roundup

            The Nebraska chapter of the National Safety Council is looking for volunteers to work a bicycle rodeo during River City Roundup at the Qwest Center on 26 September, from 12-3.  Contact Dave Airola if interested.

     + Discussed having members of the ORA speak at the MSF classes on base to get the word out about us. Everyone seemed interested in this idea. Dave Bliujus will follow up with SSgt Hill in the safety office to try and make this happen.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:00 PM

50/50 was $13 to the winner.

Next meeting will be 8 Sep. 6:30 PM, Rumors Lounge basement meeting room.
